Atletico Madrid open talks with Renato Veiga as Chelsea set £35m asking price.

Atletico Madrid have contacted the representatives of Renato Veiga as they explore a deal to sign him from Chelsea.
The Spanish side are seeking defensive reinforcements and have turned their attention to Veiga after ending their longstanding interest in Tottenham centre-back Cristian Romero.
Veiga is one of the players Chelsea are prioritising selling this summer. They understood holding out for more than €40million (£34.6m) for the defender. Who is interest in the proposed move to Atletico.
Chelsea will make a handsome profit if they can recoup that sort of fee for the 21-year-old, who they spent only £12m to sign from Swiss club Basel in July 2024.
The Portugal international made 18 appearances for the Blues in the first half of last season before joining Juventus on a six-month loan.
Towards the end of last season, Juventus were weighing up a permanent move for Veiga once his loan came to an end. A move to sign him outright has yet to materialise, however.
